It is effective for everyone; you DO NOT need to be an athlete to have a deep tissue or a sports massage.

What Is Deep Tissue and Sports Massage Like?

Both deep tissue and sports massage are a more robust and intensive type of massage; they are designed to improve quality of movement, boost recovery from injury or exercise and ease pain. 

A number of different techniques can be used: friction; compression; broadening strokes; direct pressure; cross-fiber friction; range of motion; and stretching. The therapist will adapt the pressure according to your needs.
